Description :

The village lies on the River Marne, in a steep-sided valley flanked by wooded hillsides. The 18th-century Notre-Dame Church contains a super painted stone statue of the Holy Trinity (16th century). The château, a vast bourgeois mansion, has been turned into a retirement home. There are old wayside Crosses but the chapel in Mechineix was rebuilt in 1870 on a hill between the Marne and the canal. From 1612 to 1878, Riaucourt had an experimental furnace operated with a mixture of charcoal and coal.
